My experience at the College of
Business Administration (CBA) with the Technology Group has provided me
and my family a future. The Technology Group manages and maintains
the servers and computers for CBA. The students at the Technology
Group were broken into three different categories, Classroom Support,
Desktop Support, and Systems Administrators. Most students start
at the Classroom Support level, and that's were I started.
Classroom Support manages and
maintains the all multimedia classrooms for CBA. CBA has 19
multimedia rooms that have computers, projectors, VCRs, DVD players, and
surround sound. With Classroom Support, I learned how to
troubleshoot multimedia equipment within a classroom. Within three
months I was moved up to Desktop Support. The move up was partly
because of my ability to learn quickly and mostly because there was a
shortage on Desktop Support. Desktop Support manages and maintains
the computers for the faculty, staff, and the computer labs. I
received most of my experience with computers on this level of support.
After 18 months of being on Desktop
Support, I was moved to Systems Administrators group. The Systems
Administrators were responsible for all the servers and computer lab
images. My main responsible was to create a computer image for the
computer labs and assist in imaging all the computer labs.
With the experience at CBA and
finishing my degree at TSUD, I was able to get a job at Globe Motors as
a Network Support Technician.
