I must apologize to those of you who count on my Every-Other-Monday updates. I'm sure all of you got sick of pulling up the latest comic page just to see me still there on the couch with the same snarl on my face. Sure, Apocalypse Bear was cute sitting there next to me for the first week, but by now I'm certain you want to pick him up and chuck him into the closet. (Although I wouldn't recommend that.)
There are a handful of reasons why I slacked off. I'll state the obvious one that I know some of you are already mouthing to the screen as you read this: World of Warcraft. Anyone that knows me well knows I'm a sucker for a good RPG. Case and point--the name of my computer I'm typing on at this very moment is Sephiroth. The start-up song is "One Winged Angel." Okay, I lied. It used to be, but I took it off after an embarrassing time at work when I booted him up, and my boss was on the phone right next to me.
Anyway, WoW practically never ends and has thousands of customizable character possibilities! I currently have three characters--all bad-ass females naturally. Although I enjoy teaming up with John, I enjoy playing solo the best. (Don't pout, John. You're the one who yells if I accidentally pull four murlocs when all I was trying to do was buff your pet. Ha ha.)
WoW was not the only hindrance of Cool Like Us. The seventh and final Harry Potter book came out during my comic hiatus. All of my friends are gifted with the ability to read quickly, and it was all I could do to trail close behind and not get spoiled. I'm sure they all loathed me at one point when we all got together, but they couldn't discuss the book since I had still not finished.
I also have my first anime convention coming up, and of course I want to cosplay. I will be going as Jessica from Dragon Quest 8 (see--another RPG.) Three of my closest friends and I started getting together once a week for a sewing night. It's a good way to get our costumes done on time, but it's also good way for us girls to get together and talk about the boys. Ha ha.
Needless to say, I've been busy. I will try my best to keep up with Cool Like Us, but I'm afraid I can't make any promises right now. My day job drains me, and by the time I get home my brain is mush. I appreciate those of you who expect the updates. I may sigh and give excuses, but behind all that I'm quite flattered, I assure you.
