Some people might think it's bad form to change the appearance of a major character so early in his development, but this is more like correcting than changing. Originally, the bear that I won out of the crane was lavender colored, but we didn't have a corresponding marker for it. So we made him April's favorite color instead. Now, Apocalypse Bear has been restored to his true form and will remain that color from this point on in the timeline.
