I am so excited to see the Iron Man soundtrack hit shelves! The newly released trailer has clips from AC/DC's "Back in Black," Audioslave's "Cochise," and of course, "Iron Man," courtesy of Black Sabbath.
If gritty rock is your scene, check out the trailer and keep an eye out for this sure-to-be amazing soundtrack! |
This spunky film turned sleeper-success story not only chronicled one teen's struggle with finding parents for her ill-begotten child, but also tickled audiences with its fresh, quirky sound selections.
Many songs by Kimya Dawson, a few by Antsy Pants, and a final track featuring the two main cast members, Ellen Page and Michael Cera round out the CD as a soft but silly compilation of indy music for the new millenium. |

Julie Taymor's new film, "Across the Universe," was a greatly unloved but amazing little movie starring Jim Sturgess, Evan Rachel Wood and Jim Anderson.
These actors sang their songs on site, but also recorded their Beatles song reinventions onto an amazing two-disc set. This collection spent over a month in my car's CD player, folks. |
Okay, so most of you saw this movie early in your freshman year of high school, but if you haven't seen it, check it out. Aside from its 90's soundtrack, it's a super tale of reinvention after graduatioon.
Favorite songs from the 90's including songs from artists like The Replacements, Run DMC, and Smash Mouth. Check it out for a return to days when cool was king and nerdy was punishable by death. |

"Hairspray" dazzled audiences with its stunning costumes, sets, and characters. The cast included John Travolta, Zac Efron, Queen Latifah, and many more.
In particular, check out "Run and Tell That," "I Know Where I've Been," and "Without Love." |

Of course, I have to have a few TV soundtracks on here. They provide a much more immediate sense of what music is out there, playing, and popular. "Scrubs" continues to bring out fresh sound clips with folksy, acoustic sounds, a few rockin' surprises, and of course, songs from the hospital's a capella group. There are several volumes of "Scrubs" music available, but be sure to check out Colin Hay, whose soulful ballads had a lot of play in the second season. The show also included hits from The Fray, Marvin Gaye, U2, The Eels, and The Shins. |

This film may be over ten years old, but it was one of the first CDs I ever owned, and to this day I still enjoy listening to it. Aside from music by R. Kelley, Seal, Monica, and Salt-N-Pepa, the disc also has some silly but awesome tracks that reference the movie, and involve Chris Rock, Barry White, Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny, and Daffy Duck. |
This seventies throwback show brought out a wish I didn't know I had to live in the decade of hard rock, smoking pot, and high gas prices.
Its soundtrack features Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and Foghat. It's great for juicing up a boring road trip or jamming out before you head to your boring, 2000-era job. |

Both the first and second "Shrek" movies held music from many different sources, as well as tracks performed by the colorful CG characters.
Hits include "Funkytown," "All Star," "I'm a Believer," "Accidentally in Love," and "I Need a Hero." But to fully appreciate the music, you're better off just checking out the films themselves. |
You've no idea how much pleasure it gives me to present my last soundtrack on this page! Not only am I ready to work on a different kind of content, but it's obvious from watching this movie that these guys just love their job.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone compiled a set of musical numbers from the film as well as remakes by Kid Rock, D.V.D.A., and Michael McDonald. |
