SEVENTH GRADE MATH

Tommie Adams has been at Floyd Middle School for three years.  This is her 17th year as a math teacher.  She is a coach at heart for math facts and competitions.  Her goal is to coach each student into mastery of skills, concepts, and objectives taught in the classroom.

Welcome to the Floyd Middle School Seventh Grade Learning Forward Classroom!

What's Happening in Mathematics

We are getting ready to complete our Geometry unit. The students have been working very hard with constructions and transformations.

With the CRCT steadily approaching, we are continuously reviewing past and present concepts. Some of our past concepts are: solving algebraic equations (one- and two-step), simplifying algebraic expressions, Distributive property, collecting and displaying data, measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode, and range), creating and reading Box-and-Whiskers plots, scatter plots, and graphing linear equations on a coordinate plane.

As you can see, we have been very busy this school year and it is very important that our Focus-Minded Students (FMS) come to school everyday, ready to review and practice.

Reflection on EDU 6606 Class

This class has been most challenging with the use of various technological twists and turns.  Technology is an added asset to any project or assignment.  Students will continue to use this instrument to enhance and engage their learning.
