Passing:
Brothers, It is with deep sadness and tears that I write this email to inform you that Brother Chris Waites has passed on. He brightened many lives in his few years. I did not know a more faithful friend. He will be missed by all. As many of you know, Chris has been fighting lymphoma for several years and has undergone several bone marrow transplants. Chris continued to remain sick after becoming cancer free and had suffered from graft v/s host disease where the body doesn’t fully accept the transplant. This did not allow his immune system to recover and he succumbed to a fungal infection that attacked his lungs and brain. The visitation will be held Friday 18 April 2008 from 6pm-8pm and the funeral will be Saturday 19 April 2008 at 3pm in Abingdon, VA. You can go to the following web address to access his obituary and memorial site. You can send Angie a message from there and even light a candle for Chris with a short note. http://www.farrisfuneralservice.com/waites.htm Instead of flowers, there has been a trust fund set up for Chris’ children, Andrew and Brenna if you wish to make a donation. There are several ways to do this. The website obituary has information to send funds to their church and the information below tells you how to make a direct donation to the trust fund. Wachovia Bank Angela K Waites In Trust for Andrew and Brenna Waites Attn: Pamela Mullins 332 Cummings Street Abingdon, VA 24210 I do not have many email addresses loaded on my work computer. Please, pass this along to anyone that might have known Chris. His family and I would appreciate it greatly. Chris Waites touched my family’s lives in ways you cannot imagine as I am sure he did many of you. In retrospect, I can’t think of a finer Father, Son or Brother. I love you and will miss you until we meet again. |
