Certainly the most public and perhaps the best-known description of the purposes of Delta Chi, the Preamble's principle ideals offer profound potential as a guide to daily life as a brother:

"We, the members of The Delta Chi Fraternity, believing that great advantages are to be derived from a brotherhood of college and university men, appreciating that close association may promote friendship, develop character, advance justice, and assist in the acquisition of a sound education, do ordain and establish this Constitution".

 

 

Delta Chi Convention 2008 Update!!

The 2008 Convention was held at the Riviera Hotel & Casino on July 30 - Aug. 3 in Las Vegas!

Newly elected officers:

"AA" - Tom Horowitz
"CC" - Miles Washburn
"DD" - R.C. Damle

We also designated Chris Johnson as the convention honoree.
There were several emeritus conferrals including "AA" Emeritus to Nothnagel and Hauser. The Self Governance proposal did not pass. No significant changes to ritual were made. There were several Delta Chi Law adjustments, nothing earth shattering. The dues structure also was voted to increase active dues $5 this year, and again next year. The AM fee was raised $10 and initiation fees $5.

Wanted to pass on both thanks for everyone involved in the convention this past week, as well as passing congratulations once again to our new "AA", Tom Horowitz. For those who were unable to make it, it was a fantastic time, with a nice dry 107 degrees everyday. The banquet and awards were truly something to behold, as well as the "New Founders" including Brother and Regent Duane Meyer with a perfect ad lib speech.

For those who may not be aware, the convention for 2010 will be held in New Orleans. Start saving your money and beads now for what promises to be another great location.
