I spent several evenings going through my computer’s hard drive (and my digital archive) to select the specific things that I wanted to use in my portfolio.
I set up a Word Document and an Excel spreadsheet that let me list the things (10 in all) and then create hyperlinks to each URL. After creating the list with the URLs, I added comments in Word to represent the captions for each content item.
From start to finish this project has taken me several evenings, and most of the time was spent in selecting the content and deciding what to put on the pages. Those aren't really technology issues...they are portfolio issues. Finishing all of the entries was mostly a copy/paste job between a previous version of my portfolio, and adding all the hyperlinks.
In my overall technology experience, I have gained skill using the instructional technologies that I have studied in my graduate courses and through lots of use. I firmly believe that computers can be a helpful tool for teachers in the classroom.
Here are my reflections on the process of creating this web portfolio.
